| The Video Monitoring System is a video display/recording and computer system designed to allow researchers to monitor animal behavior during experimentation. Cameras can be mounted inside animal cubicles, giving the researcher a clear view of the animal's activities without disturbing the animal. A variety of cameras and lenses are available to satisfy most viewing requirements. Video Monitoring System integrates with MED-PC®, allowing MED-PC® to control the starting and stopping of the video, and allowing MED-PC® to insert comments into the saved video files. For example, when an animal receives a reward, MED-PC® can insert the text "Reward pellet given" into the video file, allowing for accurate timing of when events happen inside a video file. Video Monitoring System supports a variety of camera modes, resolution, and frame rates - for more details, please contact the Med Associates sales department. |
- Video Monitoring System is the ideal solution for monitoring behavioral experiments.
- Record video from up to 8 cameras simultaneously, or simply monitor in real time.
- Capture still images as bitmap files using the "Snapshot" feature.
- Annotate video clips with behavioral observations and time stamps to eliminate manual labor and transcription errors.
- Annotation tool allows customization of behaviors, and supports multiple behavior sets.
- Recorded videos may be viewed with any standard Windows video player. Annotated behaviors appear as captions with the video.
- Flexible design allows the software/cameras to be used with home cages, SACs, behavioral chambers, Video Monitor is compatible with MED-PC®. Trigger recording, and post annotations from MedState Notation™ code during experiments.
- Software supports camera resolutions from 160 x 120 up to 1600 x 1200 pixels, frame rates from 3.75 to 250 frames per second, and color or black and white video.
