This cubicle is identical in construction to the ENV-018V. It is ideal for the ENV-008 series of standard rodent modular test chambers and the ENV-307 series of the mouse modular test chambers. The inside dimensions measure 22.0" W x 15.0" H x 14.0" D (55.9 cm x 38.1 cm x 35.6 cm). The exterior dimensions are 25.0" W x 16.5" H x 15.5 " D (63.5 cm x 41.9 cm x 39.4 cm).
This sound attenuating cubicle features a truly remarkable new material, which is a light weight rigid board of moderately expanded closed cell PVC that is resistant to moisture and many chemicals. Cubicles walls are 0.75" (1.9 cm) thick with interior dimensions 22.0" W x 22.0" H x 14" D (55.9 cm x 55.9 cm 35.6 cm). The exterior dimensions are: 25.0W" x 23.5"H x 15.5"D ( 63.5 cm x 59.7 cm x 39.4 cm) The sound properties are consistent with other sound attenuating cubicles. At 2 KHz, measured 2.0" (5.1 cm) in front of a closed door, the ENV-018V is 34 dB down compared with 25 dB for an equivalent MDF cubicle. At 10 KHz, the ENV-018V is 54 dB down, better than the 51dB attenuation of the MDF cubicle.
This cubicle is identical in construction to the ENV-018MD. It is ideal for the ENV-008 series of standard rodent modular test chambers and the ENV-307 series of the mouse modular test chambers. The inside dimensions are 22.0"W x 15.0"H x 16"D (55.9 cm x 38.1.cm x 40.6 cm). The outside measures 25"W x 16.5"H 17.5"D (63.5 cm x 41.9cm x 44.4 cm)
ENV-018MD Extra Tall MDF Sound Attenuating Cubicle
MDF is used to produce this extra tall sound attenuating cubicle. MDF is a high density wood composite with thermally infused high pressure white colored laminate inside and out. Sound attenuation levels measured between two enclosures average 44.33 dB from 100 KHz to 10 KHz, increasing to 80 dB above 10 KHz. The double door construction with self-closing hinges prevents door sag. This design also permits convenient animal loading where space is a premium. Each unit features a 28 V DC ventilation fan, a large oval baffled air intake port, a magnifier "peep hole" style viewing port, and side port for feeding cables through. The ventilation fan is rated at 46 cfm and produces background noise reaching 75 dB. The unobstructed inside dimensions of this unit are 22.0" W x 22.0" H x 16.0" D (55.9 cm x 55.9 cm x 40.6 cm). The outside dimensions are 25.0" W x 23.5" H x 17.5" D (63.5 cm x 59.7 cm x 44.4 cm). This unit is recommended for the ENV-008CT standard height chamber when using an overhead swivel or commutator.
This unit is wider and taller than a standard sound attenuating cubicle. The inside dimensions of the ENV-016M measure: 26.0" W x 22.0" H x 14.0" D (66.0 cm x 55.9 cm x 39.4 cm).
Interior Dimensions:
36.5" W x 22.0" H x 14.0" D
(92.7 cm x 55.9 cm x 35.6 cm)
Exterior Dimensions:
39.5" W x 23.5" H x15.5" D
(100.3 cm x 59.7 cm x 39.4 cm)
This enclosure is constructed from almond MDF and measures 30.0" W x 30.0" D x 58.5" H (76.2 cm x 76.2 cm x 1.5 m) inside with 0.75" (1.9 cm) thick walls. Construction and sound attenuating properties are similar to other MDF enclosures. In addition to a 28 V DC powered fan standard with all enclosures, this unit includes two 28 V DC house lights mounted to the ceiling, and a viewing window with mirror tinting to prevent the animal from seeing out. This unit is also supplied with locking casters. An optional entry ramp (ENV-600R) to simplify animal loading is sold separately.
This product consists of a heavy duty metal cabinet that can be secured to the wall with several bolts. The front of the cabinet features the same aluminum modular channels used on the rat operant chambers and the Modular Primate Test Chair (ENV-601A). It is shown in the photo with two standard primate levers, two triple stimulus displays, and a pellet receptacle (sold separately). The pellet dispenser in this set up is inside the cabinet; however, it can also be placed outside of a cubicle for more convenient filling. The inside of the cabinet contains sufficient space for a SmartCtrlT™ or passive connection panel for easy connection to a computer interface. This cable may be brought out the top or the back as needed. Contact Sales for more information.
This option adds a single pane 0.25" (6.4 cm) acrylic viewing window measuring 8.0" W x 7.0" H (20.3 cm x 17.8 cm) to any expanded PVC or MDF sound attenuating cubicle. Some sound attenuation may be lost in front of the cubicle but this generally has no effect on cubicles placed side by side. Full size windows placed on the back of the cubicle for group viewing or video monitoring are also available. The window is shown here is with the ENV-018M cubicle. Contact Sales for details.
It is possible to place a full size clear polycarbonate door on a expanded PVC or MDF cubicle, although with some sacrifice in sound attenuation. This is suitable for group viewing or videotaping applications.
These drawers have a 0.75" (1.9 cm) MDF shelf mounted in the cubicle on drawer slides. It is recommended that the back of the cubicle be anchored down with the use of this option.
ENV-025FAC (115V, 60Hz)and
ENV-025FAC-A (230V, 50Hz) AC Fan Option
The 28 Volt DC fan, supplied standard with all sound cubicles, requires very little current from the control power supply (140 mA) and moves up to 46 cfm of air. The AC fan moves slightly less air. If an AC fan is preferred, however, it can be substituted at a slight additional cost.
Manually controlled switch box for Isolation Cubicle Fan and House Light. This device will allow the user to independently control the fan or light in an isolation cubicle. A 28 Volt DC Power supply is required to power the devices.
