Colleagues -  I recently acquired an old DIG-704 card from surplus.  I'd like to use this card in my "homebrewed" DOS/QuickBasic system, really just to use the onboard timer.  However I have no documentation for the card, so things like jumper settings, base addresses, etc., remain obscure.  The card is stamped DIG-704, Rev 3.3, 1998.

By chance would anyone have a copy of the documentation for this card that they'd be willing to share with me.

Thanks so much,

Kevin,

Since no one else seems to have this information for you, we did some searching and dug up some old documentation manuals that might be useful to you.  If you could shoot me off an email at my listed email address I can send you this information.

I have a similar question.  My college bought a lot of older MED equipment recently from another school.  I was able to run an individual operant chamber chamber from a DIG-750 A/B/C ISA card nicely.  However, I have had problems setting up several chambers running off of a DIG-704 ISA card.  The ribbon cable goes from the 704 card to a DIG-700 Decode module in a cabinet with 8 DIG-715 modules (with a big 28v power supply connected).  I've run the software test of the interface board and it passes the timer test and the interrupt test.  However, when I run the test of the 715 modules, none of the output or input lights respond as indicated on the screen, and the chamber I have connected to module 1 does not respond either.  I know how to set the jumpers on the 715 modules so that they are sequenced properly, and I know the proper port addresses and offsets to enter for the tests.  I have tried two different 704 cards and two different ribbon cables attached to two different 700 decode cards, but still no luck.   Am I missing something that needs to be set on the 704 card?  I have no documentation for that card at all.  Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.

The card is:  DIG-704 Rev. 2 (1992).

Thanks,

From your description, the first thing I would verify is your 28V power supply and its connections.  You must be sure that you are supplying 28V to the Decode card and to each individual chamber connected to your DIG-715 I/O Modules.  There is a connection panel attached to the base of the chamber where the 28V connection is made. This all needs to be provided by the same 28V power supply.  Once you have confirmed that these connections are properly made, your next step would be to verify that the power supply is delivering the appropriate voltage using a digital multimeter.  If you find this as your next step, feel free to contact us at support@med-associates.com and we can guide you through the process.
