Zero Maze Video Tracking System

MED-VZM-MS
Zero Maze Video Tracking System for Mouse

System Highlights

  • Monitor activity using digital video cameras.
  • Connect up to two mazes to a single computer to simultaneously
    monitor mice.
  • Measure activity at a temporal resolution of 33.3 ms.
  • Open and closed-sided runway data are analyzed independently.
  • Run using a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Record video directly to computer for later review of subject behavior.

Experiment Information

The following information is tracked in the Video Maze software:

  • Session Time – The amount of time the experiment actually ran.
  • Section Time – The total amount of time the animal spent in each section.
  • Section Explorations – The number of times the animal partially moved into a section and spent at least 150ms in the section.
  • Section Entrances – The number of times the animal completely left the section it was in and entered another section. There will be at least as many section explorations as there are section entrances, and possibly more section explorations then entrances.
  • Closed Head Dips – The number of times the animal looked over the edge of the maze for at least 180ms while a portion of the animal’s body was in the closed sections.
  • Open Head Dips – The number of times the animal looked over the edge of the maze for at least 180ms while the animal was completely on the open sections.
