The K-Limbic System

SOF-740
K-Limbic System

Med Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce we have been appointed the exclusive worldwide distributor of the K-Limbic System for creating and control of behavioral experiments

Features

  • No programming required
  • Use your existing Med Associates interface
  • Analysis in Excel®
  • Subject database
  • Automated statistical analysis

K-Limbic System provides a flowcharting method of controlling behavioral experiments, thus enabling the user to create experiments without the requirement for programming or custom written software. In order to integrate data analysis with experiment control, K-Limbic communicates with custom analysis software providing fully formatted results tables in MS Excel ® worksheets at the end of each session. K-Limbic is designed for scientists by scientists. Experiments are simple to define and create, and the K-Limbic interface uses the vocabulary of behavioral testing. The graphical user interface provides the user with a set of menus and dialogs that determine all parameters within the system. The user follows a sequence of steps to define the required experiment.

Applications:

  • DMTP/DNMTP
  • Five choice (serial reaction time) task
  • Geller-Seifter task
  • Drug discrimination (fixed ratio)
  • Progressive ratio
  • Conflict tasks
  • DRL-72
  • T-maze tasks
  • VI(20) response measurement
  • Vogel’s test
  • Go / no go tests
  • Cued lever response

The K-Limbic system originated as the Kestrel Control System, which was developed and used at SmithKline Beecham from 1993 onwards. Conclusive Solutions performed the system design and development in consultation with SB researchers. The system became commercially available in 1998. It is now renamed K-Limbic and used for a wide variety of experiments .
