SmartCtrl™

SmartCtrl Packages

SmartCtrlComponents

SmartCtrl™ Packages
DIG-716p1 and DIG-716P2 SmartCtrl Packages.
The SmartCtrl system has virtually eliminated all other interface modules. This is the most convenient, easiest to expand, and quickly becoming the least expensive interface choice for most operant test chamber systems. When special applications require it, MED Associates Inc. is the only company to offer a full line of standard modules, SuperPortT™ modules, and special purpose couplers and control modules to complement the SmartCtrl system.

The key to the SmartCtrl™ module is that it places both inputs and outputs on a single width module measuring less than one inch (2.5 cm) in width. Up to eight modules controlling eight independent chambers can be placed in the Small Table Top Interface Cabinet and Power Supply (SG-6080D) or up to sixteen modules in the Large Table Top Interface Cabinet and Power Supply (SG-6510D). A corresponding connection panel mounts directly to the chamber base for easy connection of all chamber components and accessories, while one or more universal data cables and a power cable complete the connection.

DIG-716P1
SmartCtrl™ 4 Input 8 Output Package

This basic SmartCtrl™ package includes one DIG-716 interface module, one SG-716 connection panel, one SG-210CB control cable, and one power cable. A 25' (7.6 m) power cable (SG-210CP-25) is supplied for the first test station in each group of four. Subsequent stations are daisy chained together with 8' cables (SG-210CP-8). Additional cables may be added or substituted on request.

DIG-716 SmartCtrl Interface Module

DIG-716
SmartCtrl™ Interface Module, 4 Input, 8 Output

The DIG-716 is ideal for simple chamber configurations. Four green LED indicators and 8 red LED indicators make it easy to monitor the status of each input or output respectively. All inputs and outputs are optically isolated and 28 Volt DC compatible. Inputs may be configured in a transition (pulse) or level mode for both normal (NO) switches or inverted (NC) switches. Outputs operate in the level mode only, however, pulsed outputs are easily generated in software. Use one SG-210CB or SG-210CB-50 cable to connect this unit to the SG-716 connection panel which is mounted on the chamber base plate or cubicle wall.

SG-716 Smart Control Connection Panel

SG-716
SmartCtrl™ Connection Panel

This panel consists of a stainless steel enclosure that mounts securely to the base of the test chamber. Convenient Molex® connectors are provided for both inputs and outputs. Each output driver is rated at 28 V DC, 3 A. Inputs and outputs are clearly identified by the same I/O number assigned by the software. If an optional wall-mount bracket is desired, order SG-215WMB.

DIG-716P2
SmartCtrlT 8 Input 16 Output Package

This expanded SmartCtrl™ package includes one DIG-716B interface module, one SG-716B connection panel, one SG-210CB control cable, and one power cable. A 25' (7.6 m) power cable (SG-210CP-25) is supplied for the first test station in each group of four. Subsequent stations are daisy chained together with 8' (2.4 m) cables (SG-210CP-8). Additional cables may be added or substituted on request.

DIG-716B SmartCtrl Interface Module

DIG-716B
SmartCtrlT Interface Module, 8 Input, 16 Output

The DIG-716B like the DIG-716 is a single-width module that installs easily in any interface cabinet except that it now houses in the same space 8 input and 16 output control lines. Front panel indicator LEDs, green for each input and red for each output, again make it easy to monitor the status of each control line at all times. All inputs and outputs are optically isolated and 28 V DC compatible.

SG-716B SmartCtrl Connection Panel

SG-716B
SmartCtrl™ Connection Panel

This panel is similar to the SG-716. It consists of a stainless steel enclosure that mounts securely to the base of the test chamber, and features convenient Molex® connectors for both inputs and outputs. There are eight input connectors, sixteen output connectors and three power connectors. Each output driver is rated at 28 V DC, 3 A. Inputs and outputs are clearly identified by the same I/O number assigned by the software. If is an optional wall-mount bracket is desired, order SG-215WMB.

Cables

SG-210CB
SmartCtrl™ Universal Cable

This 25.0' (7.6 meter) universal control cable may be used to connect any 716 series SmartCtrlT™ interface module to its associated connection panel. The cable features molded DB-25 connectors on each end. The round cable is easier to route, the heavy duty vinyl sheath more durable, and the wire less susceptible to damage than flat ribbon cables. Order power cables separately.

SG-210CB-50
SmartCtrlT Universal Cable

This cable is identical to SG-210CB except 50' (15.2 m) in length.

SG-210CP-25
25' (7.6 m) SmartCtrlT Power Cable

SG-210CP-8
8' (2.4 m) SmartCtrlT Power Cable

These power cables are used to complete the interface connection to the test chamber. The SG-210CP-25 is generally used for the first test station in each group of four. Subsequent stations are daisy chained together with SG-210CP-8 cables. Separate power cables were first introduced to expand the control lines for the DIG-716B, however, a bonus result is the ability to meet higher current demands of multiple chamber accessories, and increased reliability with custom installations requiring longer than the standard cable lengths.
