Basic Mouse Drug Self Administration Test Package—MDF SAC,
Classic Modular Test Chamber, Fixed Levers, Standard Pump

This basic package consists of our mouse classic modular test chamber with modified top allowing the drug delivery tether to exit the chamber. This size was first proposed by Galen Wenger and Peter Dews. It has the advantage over our other chamber sizes of a smaller area that provides less distractions for the mouse, thus improving shaping and performance. The operant conditioning chamber is fitted with a house light, two stimulus lights, two ultra sensitive mouse fixed response levers, and our pellet dispenser (20 mg). The 14 mg pellet dispenser (ENV-203-14P) is an available option when a smaller dispenser is needed. In addition, the package includes our standard syringe pump with 3.33 RPM motor, mouse drug delivery arm that supports the 25 gauge mouse swivel, a polysulfone button and spring that serves as the leash/tether assembly, and 25 gauge drug delivery line. A deep MDF sound attenuating cubicle keeps the animal in the operant conditioning chamber isolated from external disturbances. Order the MED-SYST-8 interface and software package to run up to eight chambers, or the MED-SYST-16 to run up to sixteen chambers.

Drug Self Administration Test Package for Mouse—Nose Poke

This package is similar to the MED-307A-CT-B1 (above). It consists of our ENV-307A mouse operant conditioning chamber with modified top for self-administration studies, an ENV-315M house light, our ENV-203-20 pellet dispenser (20 mg), our workhorse PHM-100 syringe pump with 3.33 RPM motor, PHM-124M mouse lever arm that supports the PHM-124B 25-gauge mouse swivel, a PHM-124C polysulfone button and spring that serves as the leash/tether assembly, and PHM-122 drug delivery line. In this package, the stimulus lights and mouse fixed response levers have been replaced by two of our popular ENV-313M illuminated nose poke response devices. An ENV-022MD Deep MDF Sound Attenuating Cubicle keeps the animal in the operant conditioning chamber isolated from external disturbances. .

This package consists of our ENV-307W extra wide modular mouse operant conditioning chamber with modified top allowing the drug delivery tether to exit the chamber. The operant conditioning chamber is fitted with an ENV-315W house light, two ENV-321W stimulus lights, two ENV-310W ultra-sensitive mouse fixed response levers, and our ENV-203-20 pellet dispenser (20 mg). In addition, the package includes our workhorse PHM-100 syringe pump with 3.33 RPM motor, PHM-124M mouse lever arm that supports the PHM-124B 25-gauge mouse swivel, a PHM-124C polysulfone button and spring that serves as the leash/tether assembly, and PHM-122 drug delivery line. An ENV-022MD Deep MDF Sound Attenuating Cubicle keeps the animal in the operant conditioning chamber isolated from external disturbances.

This package is similar to the MED-307W-CT-B1 (above). It consists of our ENV-307W extra wide modular mouse operant conditioning chamber with modified top for self-administration studies, an ENV-315W house light, two ENV-321W stimulus lights, our ENV-203-20 pellet dispenser (20 mg), our workhorse PHM-100 syringe pump with 3.33 RPM motor, PHM-124M mouse lever arm that supports the PHM-124B 25-gauge mouse swivel, a PHM-124C polysulfone button and spring that serves as the leash/tether assembly, and PHM-122 drug delivery line. In this package, the fixed response levers have been replaced with two ENV-312W ultra-sensitive mouse retractable response levers. An ENV-022V Extra Tall Expanded PVC Sound Attenuating Cubicle keeps the animal in the operant conditioning chamber isolated from external disturbances.
