Nine Hole Nose Poke Wall Test Packages

The nine hole nose poke chamber has been used extensively to assess attention and stimulus control. Med Associates offers the following packages in both rat and mouse sizes. The application software (SOF-700RA-8) available for the following packages features flexible user settings for trials to run, limited hold (duration of the serial choice phase), time out, reward duration, session time, cue duration, and ITI duration. Twenty elements of data are documented for each trial. Summary data includes correct responses, incorrect responses, omissions, premature responses, perseverant responses, time out responses, total receptacle head entries, percent correct, percent incorrect, percent omission, average latency to correct responses, average latency to incorrect responses, and average latency to reward. Basic Nine Hole Nose Poke Wall Test Package for Rat

This basic package includes a nine choice wall installed in an extra tall modular test chamber. Also included in this package is an extra tall MDF cubicle, a pellet dispenser, pellet receptacle, head entry detection, and receptacle light. An extra grid rod which cannot be used for aversive stimulus has also been added to fill the gap formed by the curved wall. Order the MED-SYST-8 interface and software package to run up to four chambers or the MED-SYST-16 to run up to eight chambers.

Deluxe Nine Hole Nose Poke Wall Test Package for Rat

This package features the MED-NPW-9L Modular Test Chamber that has already been fitted with nine nose pokes containing single stimulus lights on a curved back wall, grid floor, stainless waste pan and filler panel package. To this we have added an extra tall expanded PVC sound attenuating cubicle, pellet dispenser, and pellet receptacle with head entry detection and receptacle light. Since two SuperPortT modules are needed for each test chamber, the large interface cabinet recommended for this system supports a total of eight chambers while the small interface cabinet supports four chambers. Order the MED-SYST-8 interface and software package to run up to four test chambers and MED-SYST-16 to run up to eight test chambers.

Basic Nine Hole Nose Poke Wall Test Package for Mouse

This package is capable of the same research as the deluxe mouse package without multiple stimulus intensities. Replacing the PVC sound attenuating cubicle with a less expensive MDF sound attenuation cubicle reduces the cost of this package further. Each test package is a complete single test chamber. The 14 mg pellet dispenser (ENV-203-14) is available by request in place of the 20 mg pellet dispenser (ENV-203-20). Order the MED-SYST-8 interface and software package to run up to four test chambers and MED-SYST-16 to run up to eight test chambers.

This package is identical to the deluxe rat package ( MED-NP9L-D1) except for the cubicle and chamber. These are smaller in size to accommodate the mouse.
