Retractable Sippers

ENV-252M
Retractable Sipper - Rat

Use this ½ size modular panel with motor driven sipper tube for program control of animal access to ad-lib liquids. This unit uses a standard water bottle with a Lixit® Valve.

ENV-352AW
Retractable Sipper - Mouse

This unit is similar in design to the ENV-252M.  Instead of a large bottle it uses a 10 ml graduated pipette with stainless steel mouse sipper tube.  The extended travel of the tube insures that the mouse cannot reach the tube when retracted.  This unit requires 10.0" (25.4 cm) of clearance behind the chamber.  Contact Sales for additional information.

ENV-252A
Retractable Sipper with Lixit® Valve - Rat

This unit uses a horizontal Lixit® needle valve. The smaller size of this unit provides greater flexibility in placing it with other accessories. The valve can be moved in and out quickly, with no spillage. Supplied with 0.25" (6.4 mm) plastic tube for easy connection to a carboy bottle. Bottles may be obtained from a number of plasticware suppliers.

ENV-652M

ENV-652M
Retractable Sipper with Lixit® Valve - Primate

This unit is identical to the ENV-652AM without the added solenoid valve. This lower cost alternative is only recommended for animals that are unable to reach the Lixit® valve in the retracted position.

ENV-652AM
Retractable Sipper with Lixit® Valve and Solenoid - Primate

This modular unit operates on 28 V DC with a ground output causing the dripless Lixit® drinking valve to be inserted 0.625" (1.6 cm) into the test area. The Lixit® valve connects to a 28 V DC solenoid valve to prevent liquid flow when the Lixit® is retracted, even if the needle is displaced. This feature is provided because some primates may be able to reach the Lixit® needle with their fingers even when the sipper is retracted and spill the liquid from the reservoir. Connect this valve to any suitable liquid reservoir with 0.25" (6.4 mm) Tygon® tubing.

ENV-652FM
Sipper with Lixit® Valve and Solenoid - Primate

This unit is identical to the ENV-652AM, but with a fixed Lixit® valve. This lower cost alternative is recommended for applications that do not require removal of the sipper tube.
