The pigeon grain feeder is mounted on a 1/2 size rat modular panel and features a 28 V DC solenoid activated hopper that is designed to insure reliable delivery of grain to the bird. A built in light illuminates the large receptacle area whenever grain is accessible. A single control line activates both the hopper and light. The clear plastic hopper is easily removed for cleaning. All sharp metal edges that may cause damage to the birds beak have been removed from the hopper and the receptacle area.
This unit is supplied with two receptacle bases. The standard base (ENV-205-06), is 0.375" (1 cm) thick with a 0.50" (1.3 cm) hole that is tapered 100 degrees to produce a 1.188" (3.0 cm) opening at the top. This is designed to permit average sized birds access to grain only when the hopper is in the “up” position. A second base (ENV-205-06A) is 0.75" (1.9 cm) thick is recommended for birds with longer beaks. Although the hole size is the same at the bottom, the taper now produces a 2.0" (5.1 cm) opening at the top. For birds with thick beaks, the 0.5" (1.3 cm) hole at the bottom can be drilled out as needed.
