This modular unit features a food hopper with a precision sensor to continuously monitor the weight of the food cup to within 0.1 grams. Up to 16 sensors may be connected to an interface package (DIG-745ADC, sold separately). A photobeam sensor which needs to be connected to a Med input, is provided to indicate when the animal is eating. The food intake monitor with retractable door for rat features a retractable door mechanism that allows the researcher to control when the food is available to the animal. The door operates on 28 V DC. Due to the full size of the mounting panel, it can only be installed in the extra tall 007 series modular test chambers.
Dimensions:
Panel: 3.0" W x 13.0" H x 5.0" D
(7.62 cm x 33.0 cm x 12.7 cm)

This monitor is mounted on a 3/4 size rat modular panel and contains a liquid bottle, Lixit® valve sipper and a precision sensor to measure the weight of the bottle and liquid. The output of the sensor connects directly to the input of the interface package (DIG-745ADC, sold separately). A photo sensor head entry detector is provided to indicate when the animal is drinking, and must be
connected in order to operate.
Dimensions:
Panel: 3.0" W x 9.75" H x 5.75" D

This unit contains a liquid bottle, Lixit® valve sipper and a precision sensor to measure the weight of the bottle and liquid. It also has the added feature of a retractable sipper mechanism that allows the researcher to control when the Lixit® sipper is available to the animal. The output sensor connects directly to the input of the interface package (DIG-745ADC, sold separately). A photobeam
sensor is provided to detect beam breaks, and must be connected to an open input to operate correctly. This monitor is mounted on a 1/2 size rat modular panel.
Dimensions:
Panel: 3.0" W x 6.5" H (7.6 cm x 16.5 cm) |

This package consists of three components: the analog-to-digital converter (ADC), transducer interface module, and cable. The ADC PCI card may be installed in the same computer as the MED-PC® IV interface card. The supplied cable connects this card to the transducer interface module, which may be installed in the MED-PC® interface cabinet (space permitting) or in a separate table top cabinet (SG-6080C). Each of the 16 transducer channels has its own tare control for taring the hopper weight at the beginning of the session. With this package, various analog signals may be measured and added to the MED-PC® data file. The food and liquid intake monitoring applications (ENV-200FCW and ENV-251-LIM) use this interface.
