Triadic Packages

This triadic design has been used for more than 30 years to study the impact of stress controllability on a variety of behavioral as well as physiological indices (Current Protocols in Neuroscience, Feb 2001, Supplement 14).  Each of the three wheel turn chambers is housed in its own sound isolation cubicle.  This feature optimizes acoustic, visual, and olfactory isolation between subjects.  Extending from the end of each wheel turn chamber is a holder to securely restrain the tail.  Chambers are completely removable for easy cleaning.   Animals may be assigned randomly to "Escape", "Yoked-Aversive Stimulation " and "Yoked-No Aversive Stimulation" categories.  Aversive Stimulators, a MED-PC® Interface package, and software must be ordered separately.  The programming flexibility of MED-PC®IV software permits any programmed contingency across animals.

SAC-081515: Triadic Sound Isolation Cubicle
This Sound Isolation Cubicle will accommodate any of the available wheel turn chambers.  This cubicle features a circulation fan, stimulus light, peep hole and is lined with acoustical foam.

	ENV-586B: Standard Rat Wheel Turn Chamber This chamber is designed for rats weighing up to 300 grams.  The grid floor has nine 3/16” diameter rods placed 5/8” apart on center.  The tail holder is 3.375” long and 0.75” wide. A removable waste pan facilitates cleaning. Dimensions:  Outside:  3.5” W x 6.75” D x 7.5” H (8.9 x 17.1 x 19.1)
	ENV-586C: Large Rat Wheel Turn Chamber This chamber is designed for rats up to 500 grams.  The grid floor has ten ¼” diameter rods placed 5/8” apart on center.  The tail holder is 3.375” long and 0.75” wide. A removable waste pan facilitates cleaning. Dimensions:  Outside:  5” W x 7.875” D x 9” H (12.7 x 20.0 x 22.9)
	ENV-588B: Mouse Wheel Turn Chamber This mouse chamber has a grid floor with seven 1/8” diameter rods placed 3/8” apart on center.  The tail holder is 3” long and 0.25” wide. A removable waste pan facilitates cleaning. Dimensions:  Outside:  2.875” W x 5.5” H x 3.5” D (7.3 x 13.9 x 8.9)
