The circular runway features a perforated stainless steel running surface, stainless steel waste pan, removable lid, four photobeam sensors and control to record movement every 90 degrees. The outside radius of the inner wall is 14.0" (35.6 cm) while the inside radius of the outer wall is 23.5" (59.6 cm) to produce a running area that is 4.75" (12.1 cm) wide. The running surface is made of 16 gauge perforated stainless steel. The perforations are 0.5" (1.3 cm) diameter 0.688" (1.7 cm) and staggered to produce a 40% open surface.
