System Highlights
- Actual frequency (KHz) and amplitude (dB) measurements.
- Advanced digital signal processing.
- Software creates spectrograms and sonograms.
- Two bands in frequency range 20KHz-100KHz.
The ANL-937-1 Ultrasonic Vocalization Detector has the ability to detect ultrasonic vocalizations in any two user-defined bands ranging from 20 KHz to 100 KHz. For example, Band 1 can capture ultrasonic events occurring between 20 KHz and 40 KHz, and above 60 dB. Band 2 can capture ultrasonic events occurring between 30 KHz and 100 KHz, and above 40 dB. The user-defined bands can overlap in frequencies or amplitudes, and the Detector scans the environment every 30 milliseconds. Applications for this device include rodent mother to pup vocalizations, pup vocalizations, distress vocalizations, mating vocalizations etc.
The software includes both spectrogram (KHz X Time X dB) and sonogram (KHz X Time) graphing utilities. The text data file includes the time of vocalization onset, duration of vocalization, and number of vocalizations occurring within each user-defined band.
The USV Detector can be used in conjunction with MED-PC. The SoftCR Cumulative Recorder can then be used to represent the data as a cumulative or event plot.
The USV Detector can be sold as a stand-alone unit with 28-volt power supply (pictured), or as a package with an operant chamber and sound-attenuating cubicle. Contact Sales at for details.
